Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Purpose of position:
Build high-performance, scalable, robust web applications using leading edge tools, processes, and products.
Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
* Act as a lead software developer and deliver large-scale web applications utilizing web partner frameworks, primarily .NET
* Provide technical expertise to the Development team
* Responsible for unit testing and integration thereof, receiving signoff from Software Architect before being released to QA.
* Integration of 3rd party software through documented SDK's
* Provide recommendations for new project initiatives
* Deliver on software development times, established by Lead Architect
* On-time delivery of software development
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related educational discipline.
* 7+ years extensive development experience of web applications
* Minimum of 2 years programming experience; must have knowledge of C# programming languages, and ASP. Net web development.
* Must have experience developing and supporting Web Applications, Web, and Windows Service Application built with .NET.
* Must have in-depth knowledge of multiple current web markup and/or scripting languages: HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, PHP and Perl. Experience with AJAX is a must.
Desired:
* Advanced knowledge and practical experience in web development tools and technologies, including HTML and DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, XSLT
* Ability to work well with others in a team-based environment
* Experience in a fast-paced news environment a plus
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* High motivation level and superior attention to detail
* Ability to finish projects on time with minimal supervision
* Unit/Integration Testing Experience
* Financial Market Data knowledge a plus
