Solidworks Designer

Primary Function; Create and develop new and customized products. Maintain and ensure quality of existing products by providing technical support, shop support documents, as well as flat layout documents for laser cutting machines. This position will work closely with all departments and report directly to the operations manager. Essential Duties; Design and develop products Create and maintain manufacturing drawings and technical specifications Provide hardware specification Create parts list for bill of materials Create shop support documents Create flat layouts for laser cutting machine Create 3D models, illustrations as marketing/sales tool Maintain CAD drawing to latest revision All other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skill and Abilities; Ability to work independently Ability to identify and correct design issues Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Strong knowledge of SolidWorks software Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, OutlookWorking knowledge of AutoCad software Strong oral and written communication skills Strong manufacturing process background Experience; Minimum 3 years previous experience in related sheet metal fabrication Minimum 5 years previous experience in related manufacturing Minimum 5 years previous experience in related design/engineering Minimum 5 years previous experience in related SolidWorks software Minimum 2 years previous experience in related AutoCad software
