Trainer

Assists in the creation and presentation of training programs with assistance from contributing departments and employees.

Assists in the development of a staff of session leaders drawn from experience line managers and other knowledgeable line staff personnel. Coordinates and conducts new hire orientation when necessary. Develops schedules and conducts supervisory, management development, career development, upward mobility and internship programs. Implements action plans for participants and presents summaries to senior management. Identifies, assesses and trains departmental trainers and designs instructional systems to facilitate departmental or manpower development programs. Prepares and maintains training records and manuals. Monitors and evaluates the progress and effectiveness of training and development programs. Functions as an internal consultant to assist management in the examination and identification of organizational problems, the contribution of training in solving those problems and the implementation of vehicles to reinforce the problem solution. Administers and maintains a learning resource center, utilizing state-of-the-art technology. Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah?s and encourages others to do the same. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.



High school diploma or GED required. College degree preferred. Must have the ability to design, implement, coordinate, and conduct training. Some knowledge of behavioral concepts and their effect on learning and the training process required. Strong writing skills required. Must be a neat, poised, and articulate speaker. Knowledge of audio-visual design, production and equipment operation is a must. Background in training and/or related fields preferred. Certification in Service Oriented or industry specific programs preferred, but not required. Professional platform and presentation skills preferred, but not required. Bilingual preferred, but not required. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must present a well-groomed appearance.

Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino. Must have bending mobility. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds for a short period of time. Must be able to follow company guidelines, policies and directives. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area. Must





have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10 key adding machine, PC computers, fax machine and photocopier. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
