Videographer
Description: Job Summary: Reports to the Production Manager or equivalent level position. Under limited supervision, this position is mainly responsible for handling the video production photography for Cox Media. Responsibilities may also include producing, directing, and editing television production projects. Includes event promotions, advertising commercials, public service announcements and proof of performance spots for playback on broadcast and cross-channel; live/taped programs, post-production, studio set-up, remote production, linear/non-linear editing. Performs related work as required.
Principle Accountabilities
Video Photographer for Cox Media productions, working with producer/directors and clients on Commercial, PSA, Cox Communications and other assigned productions.
Ability to deliver high-level video photography for assigned productions and projects.
Training of other staff in Video Photography.
Maintain current production field equipment, as well as advise on needed equipment, and keep current on new available equipment in the video photography industry.
Secondary Responsibility (producer/director)
Independently create, produce and direct commercial and other television/video productions that meet the strategic marketing goals of Cox Media clients.
Technically and creatively execute: client interviews, concept development, script writing, camera shoots, motion graphics, secure on-screen and voice talent, editing, and all other pre and post production elements.
Exercise professional diplomatic and interpersonal communication skills.
Interact with local community members and clients in developing and implementing projects.
Make dubs and label tapes as needed.
Occasional travel in and out of state required.
May perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
College degree preferred and a minimum of three years shooting experience in television, cable, agency and/or production company required.
Proficiency in high-level video production photography, including knowledge and use of grip equipment, lighting techniques, lighting fixtures, etc.
Technical competency operating television and video production equipment, including, but not limited to, video camera operation, lighting direction, supervising audio, ability to read waveform monitor/vectorscope, and non-linear digital editing. Creative video/television concepting and execution capabilities.
Demonstration of work through an audition or demo reel of prior production photography work.
Strong interpersonal skills to successfully manage client relationships and collaborate with internal team members.
Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education will be considered.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Typically there are no positions reporting to the Producer/Director, however, the incumbent directs the activities of production crewmembers for on-site or remote productions on a regular basis.
