Writers needed!

The American College of Physicians (ACP), the nation?s largest medical specialty society, is seeking a Senior Writer and a Staff Writer for ACP Observer, its award-winning flagship newspaper. ACP Observer provides news, features, and commentaries on clinical medicine, practice management trends, computers and medicine, ethics, and many other topics. The Senior Writer is responsible for writing in-depth news and feature articles on both clinical and non-clinical topics. The Staff Writer is responsible for shorter news articles, occasional features, and coverage of ACP activities. Both writers contribute to ObserverWeekly, the College?s weekly e-mail news service, and play a key role in editorial planning.

 

The right candidates will have a Bachelor?s degree, preferably in English or Journalism, strong reporting and writing skills, and significant experience working as a journalist for trade publications or daily newspapers. Candidates for Senior Writer must have extensive experience writing news and features for a healthcare audience.
