  Our client is a part of the one of the top ball-bearing manufacturers in the world. With an 88-year long history and operations in 6 different countries, their products are used in several different automotive components for various manufacturers, domestic and international. Their Indiana facility produces various driveshaft-related products such as Constant-Velocity Joints and at the moment, they are seeking a qualified Bilingual Japanese Production Control / Logistics Coordinator.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Production Duties:Reviews master production schedule and work orders.Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.Revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment.Reschedules identical processes to eliminate duplicate machine setups.Distributes work orders to departments, denoting number, type, and proposed completion date of units to be produced.Confers with department supervisors to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing methods received from methods or engineering departments.Compiles reports concerning progress of work and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment to apprise production planning personnel of production delays.Maintains inventory of materials and parts needed to complete production.Expedites production of spare parts and establishes delivery dates for spare parts orders.



Logistics Duties: Place parts orders to Japan based upon project requirements.Verify order shipment dates to the company and Japan.Complete necessary documentation for clearance of customs to and from Japan when needed.Respond to all requests from Japan concerning procurement activity.Maintain inventory for production.



Requirements:Strong communication and organization skills. Native-level Japanese in reading, speaking and writing.Knowledge of -or- willingness to learn technical terms. Ability to understand product drawings and manufacturing procedures.Bachelor's degree preferred, but experience and enthusiasm will outweigh education.
