AIX Systems Administrator

Candidate must have 7+ years of UNIX AIX administrator experience. Candidate
will be responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrade and
administration of IBM PSERIES systems that run on AIX operating system.
Candidate must possess working experience in a large enterprise environment
that uses IBM PSERIES servers that run in a LPAR environment.

Strong AIX technical skills is a must for this position. Candidate is required
to have hands on experience using LPARs, LDAP, HACMP, NIM, DNS, SENDMAIL, TSM,
EMC SAN storage.  UNIX scripting ability is required for this job. It is a
plus for the candidate to have experience in supporting AIX systems that
support ERP packages like Peoplesoft and SAP. Candidate has to participate in
on-call support rotation and provide after-hours support.

 

In addition to strong technical skills, candidate must possess excellent oral
and written communications, ability to interact with technical staff, general
user community, and create project plans, and documentation. One must be able
to identify issues and work out solutions to those problems that are both
technically elegant and address the business issues at hand.

The candidate should possess a strong production environment attitude (i.e.:
Used to Change Control, understand and communicate "impact" and "back out"
issues etc.).

Educational requirements of a BS or BA Degree in Computer Science or other
technical degree is required.
