Associate Business Manager

This position is for an analyst in the AIS (Fund of Hedge Funds) team within UBS' Alternative and Quantitative Investment platform based in Stamford who will support business development projects and the day-to-day operation of the research platform. Reporting to the Business Manager, the role is one of assisting in strategic and tactical business planning, new business development, project management, developing and deploying process improvements, and internal & external relationship management. The role requires the individual to work closely with various members of the research team as well as Operations, Control and Information Technology as well as manage a variety of business administration requirements on a global basis. Strong prioritization and organization skills with attention to detail are important for this position. Working primarily with management as well as the investment team, this role offers candidates a great opportunity to grow their exposure to hedge funds while helping to manage a dynamic global operation with assets of $27 billion in both managed and advisory programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support business development initiatives
- Analyze financial forecasts in support of business planning
- Support technology developments specific to facilitating research and portfolio construction workflows
- Support process improvement projects and ad hoc requests
- Liaise with Operations, Legal and Compliance and Marketing on variety of business initiatives
- Documentation of policy and procedures as well as coordinate monthly minuting procedures
- Monitoring the timely completion of research and portfolio construction requirements
- Assisting in the monitoring of business governance
- Coordinate deliverables to various committees and research functions
- Assist in the negotiation of investment terms and conditions with Hedge Funds
- Coordinate Global initiatives including headcount planning and office administration
- Track / initiate actions from internal committee and research meetings

Basic Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate will be a smart, hard working, proactive, innovative individual who is effective at working both independently as well as collaboratively as part of the team. A strong attention to detail with a proven problem solving ability and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders is a must. Additionally, it is beneficial to have:

- Undergraduate degree
- 3-5 years of experience in capital markets (hedge fund and hedge fund strategy experience a plus)
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Proficient with MS Office
