Auto Technician/Mechanic

Pep Boys is looking for qualified Technicians and Mechanics to join our automotive service team! 

 

?  Technicians and Mechanics are responsible for providing quality service by performing a variety of automotive services.  These positions perform productive diagnosis, repair and replacement of general automotive parts and accessories, which may include:

o Safety and courtesy inspections

o Diagnostic services through proficient use of electronic test equipment

o Specialized repair and replacement services to include: fuel injection systems, diesel engines, on-board computer systems, and emission control systems

o General repair and replacement services to include: truing rotors and drums, disc drums and brakes, wheel alignment, struts and suspension, engine performance (tune-up), fuel systems, cruise control, sound systems, exhaust systems, fluid and filter service, heating and cooling systems, air conditioning systems, drive train/U-joint service, front wheel drive/constant velocity joints and specialty installations

 

?  Master Technician, EP Technician and Technician candidates require a degree from a two-year college or technical school and a minimum of 6 months experience as a certified technician or mechanic.  You must have a current, valid driver?s license issued in your state of residence. 

o Master Technician: requires successful completion of eight ASE certifications (A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7 and A8) and equipment safety certifications.  You will be required to have an assortment of tools available.

o EP Technician: requires successful completion of seven ASE certifications (A1, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8 and L1) and equipment safety certifications.  You will be required to have an assortment of tools available.

o Technician: requires successful completion of four ASE certifications (A4 and A5, and two of either A1, A6, A7 or A8) and equipment safety certifications.  You will be required to have an assortment of tools available.

 

?  Mechanic candidates require a High School diploma or GED certificate and preferably a minimum of six months equivalent experience as a mechanic. You must have a current, valid driver?s license issued in your state of residence.  It is preferred that you have equipment safety certifications.
