Automotive Buyer Positions Commodities/Bearings/Castings

An international fortune 500 firm in South Bend, IN is seeking buyers with different specialties.Commodities Buyer who specializes in bearings and forgings.   You will be responsible for commodity management and supply strategy.  You will prepare cost analysis, capacity studies, track material price trends, mange request for quotes, coordinate and chair cost reduction programs and negotiations.  You will support a launch program and negotiate contracts.  You will participate as a team member to evaluate potential suppliers.  World wide travel when necessary. Salary maxes out at 70K.  The client will not sponsor for this position.

 Requirements:  Bachelor?s degree in business or other related field or equivalent experience.  Two or more years of purchasing or project management.  Excellent technical skills required to understand manufacturing costs, materials and processes.  Strong quality skills are also required.

Preferred, but not required:  A Master?s degree and or CPM certification.  Bilingual skills and braking systems experience. 

 

Commodities Buyer who specializes in castings and machining.   You will maintain and refresh commodity supply strategy, prepare cost analysis, capacity studies, track price trends, requests for quotes, PO?s and supplier print revision level administrations.  Coordinate and chair cost reduction programs and support launch programs.  World wide travel when necessary. Salary maxes out at 70K.  The client will not sponsor for this position.
