Automotive Suspensions Applications Engineer

Company is a large European Industrial Group with presence in 3 continents that manufactures world-class components for automotive and commercial applications. Currently supplies its products to all major OEM/T-1 and Aftermarket customers worldwide.

Job Description:

Responsible for all activities involving engineering and product development in North America. Will analyze and evaluate current suspension designs, specially those of leaf springs (conventional, tapered and parabolic) as well as of other components of the suspension system (castings, rubber and rubber-bonded bushings and insulators, bolts, pins, etc.) aiming at assisting in reverse engineering and product development. Will gather information about existing products in the market and assist our Product Development Department in executing similar or alternative designs. Will interface with OEM, Tier-1 and Aftermarket customers, offering support in product/systems co-design efforts and performance evaluation, serving as conduit for the exchange of information between our Product Development department and the customers' engineering departments. Will assist in cost analysis of existing and new products. Must be familiar with computer assisted design software (CATIA, UNIGRAPHICS, CAD, etc.).

TRAVEL: Frequent in North America, visiting customers (30% - 40%); 2 to 3 times / year overseas, participating in trade shows and visiting Engineering Center in Europe. Initially will have to spend several weeks at our Engineering Department for training and integration. All business-related T&E is paid for by the company.
