Commodity Manager - Stampings

We are currently searching for a Commodity Manager - Stampings at our Novi, MI Headquarters.

Role Summary:
Manages the both the tactical and strategic activities of several Buyers including management of quotations for major projects and sourcing projects, approval of sourcing decisions and management of supplier performance. Ensures that sourcing patterns align with short term and long term strategic corporate quality, technology and cost objectives. Manages a variety of day-to-day activities related to project management of sourcing initiatives, savings initiatives and supply continuity issues.

Role Responsibilities:
* Manages vendor contracts to ensure compliance in terms of price, quality and delivery performance.
* Ensures supplier quotations meet engineering specifications and customer requirements.
* Leads acquisition projects involving stampings and impacting labor and materials management issues.
* Aligns commercial requirements with engineering, manufacturing, quality, delivery and customer service requirements.
* Identifies alternative qualified sources of material both domestically and internationally.
* Manages supplier engineering changes and related costs to ensure alignment with internal schedules and budgets.
* May lead cross-functional project teams consisting of members from Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering disciplines.

Knowledge and Learning Requirements:
* BA or BS in Business, Engineering or related field significant related experience.
* Masters degree preferred.
* Prior experience managing vendor contracts from quote to award and through to delivery.
* Ability to identify qualified alternative sources of materials both domestically and internationally.
* Possesses financial acumen to assess and compare piece price and tooling quotes to arrive at optimal sourcing patterns.
* Prior experience managing the activities of Buyers is a plus.
* Experience in tooling, manufacturing and stampings is required.
