Counter/Customer Service Specialist

Title: Counter Person

 

Job Responsibilities:  Sells company products and/or services.  Provides customers with product or service information to assist them in determining appropriate merchandise to purchase.  Recommends additional products or services to meet customer needs.  May arrange special orders, deliver or installation.  Conducts cashier transactions and restocks merchandise when needed.

 

Specific Job Duties:

 

1.  Provides prompt and courteous service to all customers, over the telephone, in the store, or in the dealers shop.

2.  Looks up the parts applications in the catalogs.

3.  Processes orders for customers with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and courtesy.

4.  Assists and advise customers in determining how to best meet their needs, often dealing with questions of a high technical nature.

5.  Understands and communicates  product information, performance standards, warranties, sales programs, and company policies.

6.  Has the ability to invoice and do basic computer functions.

7.  Secures parts for our customers

8.  Handles daily paperwork and forms generated by customers and the store including, purchase orders, receipts, invoices, warranty returns, warehouse returns and outside pick ups.

9.  Should be capable of turning brake drums and rotors, make hydraulic hoses.

10.  Is cooperative in keeping the store properly stocked, and the sales area clean, uncluttered, and properly maintained. he/she must be willing to participate in training and to perform all other duties as requested by management.

11.  Satisfactorily serve all customers. specifically, customers should be acknowledged within 30 seconds of their entering the store.

12.  Handles difficult customers and problems in a professional manner.

13.  Routes deliveries in an efficient and timely manner.

14.  Maintains special order back up system.

15.  Reports any problems to management.

16.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Essential Duties of the Job:

 

1.   Ability to communicate with customers, verbally, in writing and via telephone

2.   Ability to stand for long periods of time;

3.   Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

4.   Ability to use a keyboard, cash register, telephone and calculator

5.   PC knowledge a must.
