POSITION PURPOSE:.

To ensure that customer requirements are met communicated and verified so Mexican operations can build a quality product in a timely manner. Maintain effective liaison between distribution center, manufacturing and customers, carrying out customer service activities such as responding to inquiries, processing orders, and handling complaints in a prompt and courteous manner to support an efficient operation. This position will be assigned larger and/or more complex accounts.

 



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Working from customer contact or from interpretation of customer requirements per computerized scheduling system, identify material shortages or production problems related to an individual order or part.

Communicate with customer, Mexican manufacturing facilities, production control, quality, traffic and shipping departments to identify where problems originate and work with these and other groups to resolve requirements/scheduling problems.

Must possess assertive negotiating skills to negotiate issues with customers and other supporting groups with in the organization.

Must have good analytical skills to research problems and requirement issues.

Coordinate with manufacturing, Production Control and Traffic to track/expedite/allocate critical material or to obtain material releases.

Comply with Internal Control, ISO-9000, G.Q.S. (Global Quality System), ISO-14000, Environmental and Internal Control processes.



 

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


May participate in programs for pilot runs and/or engineering changes.




Maintain appropriate document files and prepare reports pertinent to customer’s accounts.




Comply with company, client and governmental policies and regulations.




Continue to enhance knowledge of job related operations.




Perform other duties as required to meet departmental objectives.





 

QUALIFICATIONS:



Education Required / Preferred:


Four-year college degree or equivalent experience required.





Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. (Laredo states required)




Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills required.
Must have knowledge of computerized systems and material releases, must also be able to interpret customer requirements via JIT/PPU EDI scheduling system reports.
Must have exposure to engineering change orders and pilot programs and be familiar with Program Readiness (PC&L).
Must be aggressive with manufacturing department to achieve satisfactory delivery performance.
