Dynamometer Operator

We currently have a contract employment opportunity in Madison Heights, MI. for a Dynamometer Operator with the opportunity for direct hire after (6) months.

Description:

The preferred candidate for this position will possess the capabilities to set-up and operate all aspect of an automotive engine and chassis dynamometer facility. Position will report to the Dynamometer Supervisor.

Qualifications:Have passionate interest in automotive or high performance industry.3 years minimum experience in setting up and operating an engine or vehicle dynamometer. Knowledge and experience with water brake and eddy current dyno equipment. Knowledge and understanding of gasoline engines, performance and racing engines a big plus. Experience with alcohol, diesel, and gaseous alternate fuels a big plus. Understanding of automotive repair and tools. Understanding of dynamometer and automotive electrical systems and troubleshooting. Understanding of dynamometer mechanical facility requirements and specifications. Able to work independently or in a group or small team and take direction from others. Able to provide your own tools. Must have valid US driver's license for 3 years with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.

Duties:Install engines in dynamometer and set up water, oil, and air systems, etc.Install and set-up vehicles in chassis dynamometer. Install instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow rates, etc. Fabricate simple fixtures and plumbing equipment. Operate standard tests for power, torque, durability, etc. Maintain and clean facility according to company policies.

Education Preference:

High School Diploma required, vocational training a plus
