Background

Opportunity at the Reagan Test Site (RTS) located in the exotic and tropical island of Kwajalein in the Republic of Marshall Islands. Reagan Test Site (RTS) complex includes a variety of radar, telemetry, and other instrumentation and communication systems. This location is a beautiful, tropical setting in the central Pacific that offers year-round water sports and many other recreational activities. Kwajalein is similar to most American communities with schools, hospital, stores and all public works. Crime is virtually non-existent and so is traffic, private automobiles are not authorized and bicycles are the primary mode of transportation.

The Position: Emergency Vehicle Technician



Knowledge of repairing, servicing and maintaining emergency vehicles related to Automotive (Fire Trucks, Ambulances etc.). Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order. Maintain adequate records to reflect work accomplished. Assist in instructing others to become more knowledgeable and skillful in the work, Must support and promote productivity and efficiency, cost awareness and methods improvement, learning/training and job safety. Must be able to diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, chassis and body services issues related to all emergency vehicles. Perform periodic maintenance and inspections in accordance with NFPA requirements. Must pass on-site road or operational test, specifically for each piece of equipment, given under the supervision of Automotive Services, in order to be considered as qualified to drive and/or operate any particular emergency vehicle. Must maintain good relations with fellow workers and customers.



Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent, with sufficient education to perform the arithmetic calculations required on the job. Plus at least two years of experience with emergency vehicles. EVT or ASE certification a plus. Related specialty courses or related Tech training also a plus.
