MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENGINEER ? CONTRACT/TEMPORARY

 

Olsten Staffing?s client in Attleboro, MA has an immediate need for a contract Manufacturing Process Engineer.

 

Primary Responsibilities: Specify and implement manufacturing processes and assembly equipment that meet product design requirements, customer specifications cycle times and design to cost goals. Utilize advanced quality planning to predict problem areas and implement countermeasures such as alternative process selection specific process controls improved detection etc.

Supporting & secondary responsibilities: Influence product designs to insure economical and capable manufacture. Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to meet cost quality and delivery expectations.

Management /Organization Skills: Ability to plan and organize manages multiple projects work independently to meet team objectives and business priorities. Be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Opportunities for Improvements: Provide technical support to the make sites to increase capacity improve yield and reduce parts per million defect rates. Implement cost reduction programs to improve profitability.

Complex Tasks: Author equipment specifications manage projects generate cost estimates debug and qualify equipment and tooling, and performs capacity analysis root cause problem solving.

Technical Abilities: Understanding of manufacturing processes such as automated assembly and discrete processes such as soldering crimping electronic calibration and testing for example. Ability to specify DOE to understand sources of variation and drive improved process capability. Have a functional understanding of cash flows to evaluate make vs. buy decisions level of automation to specify etc.

Team & People Skills: Be able to work in cross functional global teams. Make technical presentations to all levels of the organization. Be able to influence other team members to support projects and objectives.

Projects & Deliverables: Support capacity expansion cost reduction projects, implement and facilitate production of derivative and non-derivative new products.

Additional skills and experience: All experience levels will be considered. 5+ years of applicable experience is preferred. Lots of new products under development which will provide growth opportunities via visible challenging assignments.


Special Work Environment: 15% travel required.
