Behr Dayton Thermal Products, the largest Tier 1 automotive manufacturing supplier in the global Behr Group is seeking a Material Control Manager.

 

Responsibilities:  The individual selected for this position will be responsible for the management of a material control organization with 3 supervisors and 60 hourly employees.  This position will play a pivotal role in assuring customer delivery rates, determining root cause of problems, insure inventory accuracy to keep manufacturing operations running smoothly and implementing corrective actions.  You will also lead space utilization, returnable container and material flow improvement efforts to maintain our world class levels of inter-plant service.  The position will be actively involved in Safety, Quality, Cost, Teambuilding activities and will coordinate with other departments to implement new processes.

 

Requirements:  At least 5 years managerial experience in a unionized facility with working knowledge of MRP systems, SAP, lean manufacturing workflows and theories of automotive supply.  A Bachelor?s Degree in Materials Management is required and an APICS certification (CPIM) is preferred.  Experience with creating, administering and managing budgets, including overtime, department spending and head count as well as the demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion and lead kaizen event improvement activities is essential.
