Planning Specialist

Glovis Alabama a logistics supplier located in Montgomery Alabama provides service to the automotive plant in the area.? We are responsible for storing and delivery of parts used to produce?vehicles.

The Planning Specialist is responsible for the Container Tracking to achieve the goal of the right part, right place and right time; Oversee and maintain accurate inventory.

?

The qualified candidate is responsible for tracking of shipping containers arriving at the port in Mobile and containers arriving in Birmingham; arrange the deliveries to Glovis and our customer if necessary; Obtain customer clearance for Bills of Lading before shipment is delivered; contact trucking company to ensure containers are delivered on time; knowledge of Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) or ability to understand is helpful;? Maintain accurate inventory records in the facility; supervise inventory control clerk; oversee cycle counting; annual inventory; Track movement of parts as they move through our warehouse and develop and maintain necessary metrics to track performance.

Experience in inventory control in a warehouse and logistics environment is helpful; knowledge and understanding of inventory control and maintenance of system; a minimum of two years experience in inventory control capacity.

Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, candidate must be proficient in Microsoft, word, Xcel and also be proficient in database applications and performance.

Position will required overtime and scheduled Saturday work to meet the demands of our customer.
