Android Industries, a successful and growth oriented leader in the fast paced, quickly expanding modular assembly segment of the American automotive industry, has an opening for a seasoned Account Manager at our new Lansing, MI assembly and sequencing facility. Our intention is to hire the person who best meets Android's expectations for the position.

Job Overview:

This successful individual will become a member of the plant leadership team, which has full operations responsibility for the assembly and sequence facility. As such, the Account Manager will establish and maintain customer relationships at the senior executive and departmental levels within a customers? organization. In addition, the Account Manager will play an active role in developing, monitoring and achieving the operation?s annual goals as they relate to our local customer relationships and on-going management of the commercial aspects of our Lansing contracts.

The Account Manager must be an excellent and enthusiastic communicator, be very influential, and have a high level of energy. The ability to identify opportunities for the customer and turn them into new and/or replacement business is essential. Therefore, it is highly important for the Account Manager to maintain a solid knowledge of Ai?s current operations and always look for ways to bring more value add to our customers. Ai?s Account Manager must have the ability to communicate Ai?s value proposition at many different levels within customer organizations.

Essential Duties:

Build and enhance customer relationships at the leadership level (Plant Managers, Assistant Plant Manager, Material Director, Area Manager, Quality Director, Director of Purchasing)
Builds good will with the customer- Entertains the customer
Be the voice of the customer while maintaining Ai?s interests.
Coordinate and facilitates Ai plant tours and customer visits
Protect the original scope of work.
Ensure that Ai gets a first look at every opportunity generated by the customer
Seek opportunities to increase margins on existing contracts (additional value add)
Participate in prototype, pilot builds and Engineering reviews
Lead the quoting process for new business for local customer requests and engineering change requests
Develop and grow the Containment business by seeking opportunities within the customer?s plant as well as with the customer?s suppliers
Maintain the integrity of Ai?s ?Quoting System? and all associated job instructions
Negotiate contracts for new work and changes in existing scope of work
Negotiate customer cost savings initiatives
Take on the tough issues with the customer to protect Ai?s interests ensure key relationships are maintained between Ai local leadership and customer plant leadership
Be accessible to all shifts and ensure proper floor coverage is available at all times

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

We are seeking a seasoned automotive professional that has gained considerable working knowledge of GM?s Assembly Plant and Purchasing Operations, as well as manufacturing or assembly operations in the automotive supply base:

Experience working within the GM Assembly plant or supporting the plant through regular on-going contact work.
Proficiency in effectively managing high dollar automotive contracts, using both internal quoting and external purchasing systems.
The interpersonal skills, personal comfort and respect for other people that are necessary to effectively communicate and actively interface with our customer at all levels.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum 15 yrs experience in Automotive Manufacturing or Engineering
Minimum 10 yrs automotive ?shop floor? experience desired
5 yrs experience working directly with a GM assembly plant
Significant involvement in management of an Automotive Suppliers commercial contract with its customer.
Experience managing the relationship between an Automotive Supplier and its customers.
Work experience for a privately owned company is a plus
