Plant / Facilities Engineer

Our client, a high performance, fast paced, high volume, team oriented, lean manufacturing industrial manufacturing environment, is seeking a Plant / Facilities Engineer for their Tier I automotive supplier of windshield wiper systems and component parts, specializing in engineering, manufacturing, and assembly in Southeastern Texas location.

 

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Technical
10 or more years [direct experience] in facility/ plant engineering related activities ? preferably in high volume production and/or heavy manufacturing environment
AFE Certified Plant Engineer
Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Must have strong background in industrial electrical distribution with working knowledge of National Electric Code as applied to heavy manufacturing facilities
Hands on experience with major industrial support systems such as chillers, compressors, generators, substations and switch gear.
Must be capable of demonstrating proficiency in the use of electrical, mechanical, and structural formula as applied to the plant/facilities engineering field.
Proficiency with Auto Cad and working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems [CMMS]

 

Responsibilities:
Supervises company personnel engaged in project work and outside contractors as required.
Responsible for maintanence, repair, and installation of major plant/industrial systems throughout the facility such as chillers, process water systems, compressors, substations/switch gear, generators, and electrical distribution equipment.
Occasionally assumes the role and responsibility of ?Maintenance Supervisor? when required. 
This is a very heavy ?hands on? position.  Must be capable of actively participating in plant engineering activities and personally performing emergency repair work and/or taking corrective action when situation warrants.
