The product development sourcing manager will be responsible for establishing and translating into action global sourcing strategies for electrical / electronic and mechanical commodities. The individual will provide project management and related project coordination associated throughout new product development activities and during subsequent transfer of sourcing information to the manufacturing sites.


Responsibilities:
? Create, execute and lead global sourcing strategies (also providing local development center support)

? Develop sourcing tactics for all assigned commodities - manage the procurement from concept/design development to production; maximizing cost effectiveness and quality.

? Analyze business requirements and identify reliable global suppliers to deliver high quality and low cost products (Requires an understanding of specifications, scope of work, timing, volumes / quantity, laws and practices, market intelligence, supplier capability, and best sourcing practices)
? Lead all sourcing commercial issues for assigned commodity ? including negotiation, preparation, and execution of procurement agreements
? Develop Supplier Readiness plans in conjunction with Supplier Quality Engineering function (SQE) during appropriate phase of product development.
? Create and lead team(s) to implement sourcing strategies



Qualifications/Requirements:
? Technical Degree with a strong background in business; and/or Business degree and a background in similar industries

? 7 +  years of broad industry experience in a product development environment/strategic sourcing

? Strong negotiation skills

? High energy, self-starting personality, well disciplined and organized
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Solid interpersonal/presentation / facilitation / change management skills
? Team player with proven project management / analytical / leadership skills; ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment


Preferred Qualifications:
? Masters / MBA degree

? Experience with multi-global manufacturing sites
? Knowledge of contract law and U.S. commercial codes
