Product Engineer

We are looking for a Product Engineer for our Battle Creek, Michigan facility.  As a Product Engineer with Hi-Lex America, Incorporated, you will be responsible to design and develop product and components according to customer requirements. Provide technical support to customers and Hi-Lex.

 

In this position you will provide technical support to customers? engineering and plants and Hi-Lex manufacturing, quality assurance, program management, sales and interface with all departments.  You will design and develop new products and work to improve existing products.  Acquire test specifications, customer components and sample cables for testing.  You will also maintain customer engineering contacts to increase Hi-Lex business, check engineering drawings prior to release and prepare reports as needed.  Investigating and analyzing system failures and quality problems in the development and production phases and recommends solutions will also be required.  On occasions you will monitor competitor?s products/components and report finding to management and provide direction to technicians and drafters as needed. You will promote continuous improvement and comply with safety regulations.  At times you may be asked to perform other duties as necessary.

 

A four year degree in mechanical engineering is required along with 2 ? 5 years of experience in product design and development. Having knowledge of Hi-Lex related products (design, function, testing, manufacturing, and auto application) would be helpful.  You should have knowledge of engineering practice (GD & T, DOE, FMEA, DFM, CAD applications, statistical analysis) is preferred.
