Quality Control Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Develop and implement standard methods, procedures, inspections, and quality systems to ensure components and finished product meets specifications.  Improve product quality, reliability and safety of the product in the field.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

s Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety.

s Responsible for ensuring implementation of quality control procedures, in-process inspections and completed product inspections.

s Evaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of quality, reliability, and safety.

s Maintain and improve supplier performance and effectively communicate with suppliers on corrective action and quality issues.

s Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.

s Maintain system to evaluate quality trends, performance analysis, accuracy measurements, and performance testing.

s Formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant supervisors to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

s Organize and promote company wide quality improvement efforts.

s Responsible to manage the daily activities of quality control team members, as well as that group?s ability to meet quality goals and inspection schedules.

s Provide feedback on department issues, improvement ideas, expenditure requirements, personnel and other areas as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

s Familiar with a variety of the field?s concepts, practices, and procedures.

s Ability to analyze and solve problems.

s Ability to express technical concepts effectively, both written and verbal, to all levels of the company.

s Experience with data collection and analysis.

 

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Bachelor degree preferred with 10 years quality experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified and 3-5 years supervising or managing technical personnel and complex activities.  ASQ certification desired.
