Quality Engineer - Mountain View

Tier 1 Automotive Supplier seeks Quality Engineer to perform Quality Assurance with the ability to support product launches, solve problems, aggressively pursue continuous improvements and cost reductions, and work with customers to achieve quality goals.

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

 
BS Degree in related field required.
Above average verbal, written communication and human relations skills preferred. 
Good organizational skills required.
Proficiency in personal computer word processing, spreadsheets, statistical programs preferred.
Must have ability to develop work plans, evaluate progress, provide direction, effectively address open issues, and professionally communicate status with company management and customer personnel.
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, quality systems, and manufacturing principles and methodologies for the automotive industry preferred.
Prefer Certified Quality Engineer.
Ability to perform statistical analyses/ studies is required. Ability to correctly analyze and report study results is preferred. Knowledge of Kaizen Principles & Concepts preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 
Two ? five years of Quality Engineering experience in the automotive industry preferred including knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Quality Systems requirements, and manufacturing principles and methods.
Training and working knowledge of KAIZEN Principles and Concepts preferred.
Participation and experience in Kaizen Gemba Workshops is preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred.

 

MAJOR ACTIVITIES, DUTIES:

 
Assures integrity of product and process quality.
Maintains effective communications with company and customer personnel.
Aggressively pursues continuous improvement and error/mistake-proofing of all relevant plant and customer performance measurables.
Leads efforts to reduce process and product costs.
Provides assurance for usage of quality system requirements in day-to-day manufacturing environment.
Leads problem solving and change control effort for assigned products.
 Works as integral part of Platform Team Management group in the performance of daily responsibilities.
Performs special studies/assignments, gage studies, process capability, correlation analyses, etc. as required to support Platform Team, company and customer objectives.
Supervises Quality Technician. Assures customer and plant charts and reports are completed in required time frames
