Quality Manager

The Company?s current operations span the globe through 15 countries, more than 100 facilities and over 14,000 employees who are committed to achieving total excellence.  An opening is currently available within the Plastics Quality Group for a Quality Manager at our Headquarters in Southfield, Michigan.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible to support the successful implementation of the Quality Operating System (Q0S) at the Plant Level.  The Quality Manager will support 5-8 plants and be expected to be visiting plants 2-4 days per week.

 

The Quality Manager will be responsible for the following initiatives:

 

? Work with Plant Quality Manager and Plant Leadership to implement standard metrics, standardized work, master schedules for quality improvement, weekly and monthly Quality Operating System Meetings.

? Assess plant skill set in various quality disciplines and support development of training plans.

? Assess plants on a variety of basic quality disciplines and support development of improvement plans.

? Provide training to plant personnel in key quality disciplines:  FMEA, Control Plans, 8D?s/5P?s/7D?s/3 Legged 5 Why, Visual Factory, Layered Process Audits, DOE?s.

? Support Launch of New Products through APQP & PPAP audits, development of extraordinary launch measures, and assessing supply base readiness. Ensure read across of past problem history into FMEA?s and control plans.

? Support plant readiness for TS16949 audits.

? Support Customer visits with performance summary charts.

? Be the expert in customer quality rating systems.

 

The successful candidate will possess:

 

? 3-5 years experience as a Plant Quality Manager.

? Excellent communication and planning skills.

? Self directed but works well in a team environment.

? Excellent leadership and decision making skills.

? Experience with several OEM?s quality systems (DCX, GM, Ford, Honda, Toyota).

? B.S. degree, preferably in Engineering.
