Senior Powertrain Engineer

The position:

 

In this challenging position as Senior Powertrain Engineer within the Systems Engineering Group, you will be responsible for:

 Direct technical interfacing with engine and transmission suppliersEngine calibrations as required to integrate the engine into the hybrid powertrain.Evaporative and tailpipe emissions, including certification to federal regulations.Development of supervisory engine control algorithms, integrated within the hybrid vehicle control system.Mentorship to fellow engineers on powertrain related issues.

You possess the following:Proven ability to understand engine control systems and calibration methodology for both gasoline and diesel engines.Knowledge of exhaust after-treatment technologies and optimization.Proven knowledge of evaporative emissions strategies and calibrations.Vehicle calibration experience to achieve emissions, OBD-II, drive-ability and fuel economy objectives.Understanding of powertrain control algorithm development process.Familiarity with commercial calibration tools (ATI, Gredi, etc.) and data analysis.Strong engineering analysis skills7+ years of engine algorithm development and/or calibration experience.Bachelor?s degree in Engineering.A valid driver?s license, clean driving record and good driving skills. 

 

Ideally, you will also have the following experience:Transmission algorithm development or calibration experience. Hybrid powertrain integration or calibration experience.Exposure to model based development tool chain.
