Service Management

Pep Boys is looking for qualified automotive service management candidates to join our team as Service Area Directors, Service Managers, Assistant Service Managers and Service Advisors/Writers. 

 
The Service Area Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day service operations of an assigned group of stores, delivering expected service sales results by ensuring execution of programs and standards. Responsibilities include improving performance through a focus on the development of the service teams, providing on-going guidance, leadership and direction for assigned stores.  Ensuring the execution of customer service standards and customer satisfaction programs, building customer loyalty by developing managers and service teams that exceed customer?s expectations.  Ensuring the achievement of sales, productivity and profitability in assigned locations.  Providing procedural guidance to ensure that locations comply with policies and procedures, security, safety, and environmental codes and ordinances. 

 

The qualified candidate will have 3-5 years of multi-unit management of automotive service facilities.  Must display strong people management and leadership skills, excellent verbal and written communication, sound business sense, and a comprehensive understanding of the automotive service industry. The qualified candidate will also have completed two years of college or technical school program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  The qualified candidate will have a current, valid driver?s license issued in the state of residence, and must be able to travel frequently within an assigned area.

 

 
The Service Manager and Assistant Service Manager supervise and direct all associates in the service center, and are responsible for the effective operation of the service center to include sales, productivity and profitability.  The Service Managers are also responsible for ensuring that the service center operates under safe conditions according to established policies and procedures and in compliance with federal, state, county and municipal regulations.  Both positions work closely with the Retail Manager to achieve overall sales and operational objectives. 

The qualified candidate will have completed two years of college or technical school, or two years related experience in automotive service management and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.  The qualified candidate will have a current, valid driver?s license issued in the state of residence.

 

 
The Service Advisor/Writer is responsible for effective operation of the service center to include sales productivity and profitability.  Assists with the supervision and direction of associates in the service center and ensures that the service center operates under safe conditions according to established policies and procedures and in compliance with federal, state, county and municipal regulations.  This position works closely with the Service Manager and Assistant Service Manager to achieve overall sales and operational objectives. 

 

The qualified candidate will have completed two years of college or technical school, or one year related experience in automotive service management and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.  The qualified candidate will have a current, valid driver?s license issued in the state of residence.
