A Dallas area Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry currently has an opening for a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The successful candidate for this position will have responsibility for Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse Management, and Inventory Control within a highly successful Tier 1 automotive industry manufacturer.

 

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will lead a team of 8 direct reports.  Will manage daily receipts, customer shipments and freight claims.  Will be responsible for inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory.  Will oversee and manage a consigned inventory.  Will strive to improve and maintain inventory accuracy.

 

Preferred candidates will have automotive experience, including Toyota Production System, 5S and JIT.  Will have hands-on experience with ERP/EDI processes and bar coding systems in an automotive environment. Will have the ability to interact effectively with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering as necessary to satisfy departmental and customer needs. 

 

Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with intermediate skills in MS Excel.  Must have three to seven years experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory roles in Manufacturing and Warehouse/Inventory Control.  Automotive industry experience is ideal.  Must have experience with Warehouse/Inventory Control ERP modules, including EDI management.  Full cycle ERO implementation would be a plus.  Should posses a true Kaizen mindset including JIT/Lean Manufacturing/Toyota Production system understanding and application experience.
