Stamping Manufacturing Engineer

  Tier One Automotive Supplier seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support high speed automation equipment and processes. The company is a manufacturer of high quality, engineered products for OEM Automotive/Industrial and Aftermarket customers.  The company is a global industrial and automotive parts and products company.  We are currently conducting a search to add experienced manufacturing engineers to our technical staff THAT CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.  The successful candidate will support state-of-the-art, high speed automated equipment for metal stamping, forming, assembly and packaging processes involving mechanical feeds, pneumatics, hydraulics and electronic systems. 

 

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES

 
Develop improvements for current manufacturing methods & processes.
Plan & implement capital expenditures for future manufacturing needs.
Develop equipment and tooling for new products.
Analyze production labor utilization for optimum efficiency.
Create specs, research suppliers & purchase equipment.
APQP concurrent engineering with multi-function teams.
Project activity and resource management.
Troubleshoot and solve production problems.

 REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 
BSME or other relevant technical discipline.
 Minimum of 5 years related manufacturing engineering experience.
 Experience in high speed automated metal stamping/assembly/packaging including:
 Metal Stamping (preferably high volume/high speed stamping of components).
 Servo motor motion control.
 Mechanical feeders and parts handling.
 Hydraulic & pneumatic devices and controls.
Poke-Yoke automated assembly/ inspection devices.
Proficiency with AutoCAD/SolidWorks.

 PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 
PLC?s and electronic/electrical controls, sensors & vision.
Servo-hydraulic motion control.
Industrial Engineering experience.
Progressive die tooling.
Lean Manufacturing (5S, TPM, Standard Work, Quick Change).
Kaizen team leadership or involvement.
Visual management process experience is a plus.
