Vice President Manufacturing

Founded over 100 years ago, the company is a high ? grade manufacturer of high performance plastics for the Automotive Industry. Turning over just over $1bn worldwide, the group is active across over 15 countries with more than 45 locations. Of strategic importance to the organisation?s proven track record in productivity and efficiency, is their US division with fully-fledged operations with full manufacturing and logistics activities. To ensure the continued and ongoing success of the groups growth plans, the organisation is now looking for a Vice President Manufacturing.

 The Role

 
Being part of the senior leadership team and reporting to the President and working together with the Vice President Commercial, you will have the day to day management of the production operations. You have reporting into you approximately 350 employees with 7 direct reports in quality, logistics, tooling, maintenance, production, paint line production and Kaizan.
You will lead the manufacturing group in developing and executing strategic plans that will deliver the highest quality products, while assertively pursuing opportunities for continual cost reductions and process improvements.
The Vice President will ensure that operational effectiveness is being met and surpassed across the various departments under their control. Commercially, you will also be heavily involved in planning to optimise business developing initiatives and will be required to work closely with globally renowned OEM?s.

 The Requirements

 
Candidates for Vice President Manufacturing will have 10 ? 15 years experience in operations with the Automotive Component Supply Market and/or plastic manufacturing (injection moulding being advantageous).  You will have demonstrated expertise in creating world class manufacturing operations. Experience with continuous process operations is also very important.
Critical competencies for success include the ability to lead proactively and drive manufacturing strategy as well as work collaboratively within a team and influence others to get things done. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have spent time on the plant floor and will therefore have a good handle on the functional requirements of the various departments involved.
You will have a bachelor?s degree or equivalent in engineering or manufacturing discipline. A second language aside from English would be ideal and fluency in German would be extremely advantageous.
