Job Description:
Job Summary:

Reporting to the designated supervisor or manager, perform a variety of yard duties related to vehicle recovery operation and salvage auction in accordance with established procedures. Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor or manager. Must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state or federal laws are followed at all times.


Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Provide prompt and courteous service:
A. Demonstrate friendliness and greet every person with whom they come in contact.
B. Maintain a professional appearance and a neat work environment consistent with the Handbook.

2. Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention for all contacts and transactions.

3. Be familiar with procedures for handling all aspects of customer complaints or disputes.

4. Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner. Advise the supervisor or designated manager of all complaints or incidences.

5. Represent the company to the general public which may reflect on the company's image.

6. Complete paperwork related to the uncompleted inventories or preparation for sales in an efficient and accurate manner which includes verifying vehicle information, condition of vehicle, picture images, etc. May include odometer readings.

7. Pull license plates and personal items from salvage vehicles in storage area for insurance company representative or owners; occasionally escort them to vehicles.

8. Follow up on quarterly and annual independent inventories to assure proper completion.

9. Keep yard and auction area clean and free from debris. Manually pick up and disposes of loose parts such as tires, mufflers, or exhaust pipes.

10. Other job related duties required may include:

? Assist in auction preparation by verifying that the auction list matches the physical arrangement of vehicles;
? Prepare, vacuum and clean cars as required.
? Assist in shrink wrap program which includes covering parts, such as windows, with plastic wrap; cuts to size, tapes wrap over area to be covered, and shrinks to fit with a heat gun.
? Siphon gasoline from salvage vehicles into approved container in accordance with company procedures.
? Start and rate vehicles as required.
? Remove trash and debris from various areas of the auction and dispose of in the proper central collection area.
? Perform clean up duties on the outside grounds of auction property.
? Perform any other cleaning and janitorial duties as directed by supervisor or manager.
? Inspect the fence line for indications of unauthorized entry or potential security risks.
? Insure the offices, auction building and grounds are secured at established times. Note any security, safety or fire hazards.
? Secure gates at established times and patrol auction property. Check for unlocked doors.
? Check all incoming and outgoing vehicles for proper authority to enter or exit.
? Ensure all personnel entering the facility have proper authority and to secure and monitor entire auction facility.

11. Maintain and assure good operating condition of all equipment and facilities. Advise supervisor or manager of all breakdowns and maintenance needs immediately.

12. Immediately report to Manager or Supervisor all incidents, including accidents or mechanical problems experienced on the job.

13. Maintain work area and conditions to ensure safe environment for all employees and customers. Respond to and follow proper company policy procedures involving accidents (customer or employee), injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents to manager of supervisor immediately.

14. Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.

15. Maintain a good flow of communication with all personnel.


Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

? High school diploma or GED preferred.
? Mechanical ability preferred.
? Basic computer skills preferred.
? Ability to move/lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
? Ability to complete required paperwork.
? Must submit to and pass controlled substance investigation and testing in accordance with company policy.
? Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
