Job Description
Designs and manages the Bank?s strategic planning process: working with the AVP of planning and risk, directs planning staff as they partner with President, First Vice President, bank leaders and key stakeholders to develop Bank strategy; plans and organizes the strategic planning sessions and framework utilized by senior management and individual business units; facilitates planning sessions with senior management and bank leaders; leads partnership with Budget, Enterprise Risk Management, and Leadership Development and other functions to integrate their work into the corporate strategy; assesses business opportunities and reviews the general corporate structure; develops and edits recommendations and whitepapers on critical issues for senior management; communicates bank strategy to internal and external stakeholders, including the Board of Directors and Board of Governors; serves as a subject matter expert in strategic planning, corporate measurement, and related disciplines
Serves as team lead for strategic planning staff; with the AVP of planning and risk, directs planning staff work, including planning and evaluation efforts with the Management Committee, Board of Directors, Board of Governors and other stakeholders. Coaches and mentors department planning staff and bank planners and provides performance feedback on strategic planning staff.
Evaluates Bank?s performance and alignment with strategic objectives: designs processes to help evaluate and communicate the Bank?s performance on its goals and objectives annually and on an ongoing basis; helps ensure the Bank?s key initiatives, internal and external communications, and other efforts are prioritized and aligned with its strategic direction on an ongoing basis; develops and edits keys reports and briefings on Bank performance for senior management, Board of Directors, Board of Governors, and other System-level entities
Leads or supports high-priority and cross-functional projects related to strategic direction; project scope is typically highly complex and sensitive in nature; develops effective projects, mechanisms and procedures for strategic program implementation
Identifies critical issues requiring senior management attention and ensures they are appropriately escalated
Supports Senior Management by providing ad-hoc planning, analytical and project support. Consult Bank leadership on emerging business trends and potential strategies. Collaborate and guide departmental strategy sessions and facilitate key meetings as requested.
Performs other duties as required
Essential Skills
Bachelors degree in Social Sciences, Business, other related field; Graduate degree preferred
7to 10 years of related experience
Strong experience in managing complex processes, particularly strategic planning efforts
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills and experience
Demonstrated ability to partner with, influence and challenge executive leaders
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute on those strategies
Excellent project management skills, including establishing performance metrics and milestones
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to build teams and coalitions
Excellent understanding of customer business and needs
Outstanding teamwork and ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization
Proven ability to work effectively under tight time constraints and stressful situations
Able to tolerate highly dynamic and often ambiguous environments
*The salary range for the Level 3 role is $63,840-$79,800-$95,760*
