AVP/VP Strategic Sourcing Manager

An International Bank is seeking an AVP-VP, Strategic Sourcing Manager for its Procurement Supply Group of all commercial/sourcing aspects of their assigned commodities, including the creat. Required: Degree level certification. Certified membership of the Institute of Supply Management, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, or other recognized national/international Procurement institution, together with an Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business or related field.3+ years in either sourcing or management of a functional area directly associated with the commodity they are managing. Understanding of commodity costs, programs/negotiations and specialist contracting requirements. Strong appreciation of strategic drivers and technologies facing Bank and the commodities they manage. Able to recognize and take advantage of global/regional sourcing programs jointly developed throughout the Group. Experience with implementing/operating business-to-business e-commerce solutions. Operational knowledge of eSourcing is a big plus. Strong understanding of Supplier Screening programs with the ability to evaluate/mitigate any associated potential business risk to the Group. Strategic focus and in-depth understanding of the role he/she plays in creating relationships with suppliers, which are mutually acceptable, extract optimum supply value and minimize costs. Person should be an intelligent/innovative professional with proven skills developed through successful handling of increasingly responsible assignments. Team player possessing great drive and excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Highly developmental/quick learner with potential to progress into further responsibilities with the company. Skilled in people relationships; confident, firm, empowering and positive in his/her attitude to people. Main duties: Responsible for management on/oversight of a strategic plan, developed/managed in conjunction with key shareholders. Will negotiate and implement major contracts, effective cost management programs, & establish successful relationships with suppliers on a country, regional or global basis. Contracts will be in 1-25 million dollar range. Person will be a member of Supply Management Americas Non-IT Sourcing. Responsibilities: Use a standardized process; person will lead all commercial/sourcing aspects of their commodities. Define plans for each commodity, with due consideration for market traits and opportunities, operational requirements of the Group, and available sourcing tools. Manage assigned commodities at Global, Regional or Country levels, as agreed with the VP, Supply Management and the Director, Supply Management. Establish, manage and develop a capable supply base for requirements. Develop aggressive cost containment/reduction goals for their Commodity within the Group, and produce ongoing performance reporting. Establish a system to analyze, review, report/negotiate supplier price changes, ensuring that the organization is well prepared for price increases, and that the company is not unduly affected by them in the short/long term.  Conduct periodic commodity surveys for benchmark comparisons. Consolidate choices/develop alternative sources ensuring good supply of goods/services, delivered cost effective. Monitor market trends and supply/demand factors, technology advancements, legal dictates and communications to help in decision making process to meet strategic goals of the organization. Establish regular communications with key internal clients; ensure agreement and adoption of commodity strategies, on-going review of activities undertaken and maintained strong client service. Define and implement Firm wide Non-IT Sourcing strategy.
