This is an entry-level position responsible for researching, collecting, classifying and analyzing financial/statistical data, and for participating in the preparation of reports and related documentation.  Performs and assists in moderately difficult projects involving the analysis of financial, accounting, performance and/or operating data.  Researches and resolves problems/errors in data from financial reporting systems.  Incumbents assemble, compile and analyze information that will be reviewed by higher level employees. Professional judgment is necessary in the compilation, analysis, and interpretation of results.


 


1.General accounting and reporting surrounding the Mortgage Bank's origination/production process.
2.Computing and coordinating various factors related to the vendor payment process.
3.Supporting the monthly close process, including month-end journal entries, accruals and monthly/quarterly reporting.
4.Strong knowledge and application of MS Excel and Access functions in order to track and code loan level information.
5.Assisting in the design and creation of reports that assist management in understanding daily attribution of financial results.
6.Proactively identify enhancements to the internal control structure.

-Standards, practices, methodologies and regulatory requirements relative to the finance/accounting disciplines.
-Practices and techniques relating to statistical modeling and reporting.
-Functionality and operation of automated systems/tools sufficient to effectively perform job duties.
-General concepts relating to IRR (Internal Rate of Return) and NPV (Net Present Value) spreadsheet models.
-Standards relating to the appropriate documentation of work activities.
-Concepts and methodologies relating to database access and maintenance.
-Establish and maintain effective relations as required by the duties of the position.
-Use automated systems and operate office equipment at an acceptable level of proficiency.
-Understand and interpret financial/performance data.
-Become conversant with the policies, standards, procedures and regulations applicable to the assigned work unit in a timely manner.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or work experience may be substituted
-A minimum of 1 year experience analyzing financial/statistical data and preparing reports and related documentation including coordinating with various internal departments and outside sources to gather and compile financial data
