Actuary - Defined Benefits

Randstad Professional has an exceptional long-term contract assignment with a premier financial services client in the Malvern, PA area. This exciting actuarial role is an anticipated to run 12-18 months in duration, and offers a competitive rate of $50 per hour. This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced actuarial professional! Complete details of the role are listed below:

- Undergraduate degree in Math or Actuarial Science or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum three to five years business related experience.
- The ability to read and interpret retirement plan provisions to ensure proper calculation of benefits, and the ability to identify corrective actions needed if calculation inaccuracies arise in the system.

- Provides guidance based on an extensive knowledge of plan specifications and ownership of calculation procedures and related information based on plan sponsor assignment. Has developed strong working knowledge of ERISA as it pertains to defined benefit plans.
- Performs and verifies exception and special estimate calculations. Performs and verifies retirement benefit calculations to confirm accuracy of calculations to determine and pay benefits for actual retirements, disability, death or other special-event payments based on client assignment.
- Audits or verifies automated retirement benefit calculations to confirm accuracy of calculations to determine and pay benefits for actual retirements, disability, death or other special-event payments.
- Supports the resolution of batch related process fallout as it relates to calculations.
- Prepares manual calculations and letters as needed for verification of benefit calculations and adjustments to payments.
