Analyst

 

Accounting professional needed to work in dynamic organization within Citi Cards Partnership Group Accounting.  This is a full-time Analyst position supporting the Private Label credit card business.Normal hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with possible over time required during peak periods such as month-end close.  Regular 8-5 schedule could be "flexed" 30 minutes either way.This position's responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliationsJournal entry preparation, review, and upload into the GL systemTrending analysis preparationAssist with formal Balance Sheet reviewsAssist with Profit and Loss reviewsResearch for auditors quarterly and annual reviews Monthly reconciliation of head count reporting Various ad hoc analysis for the business and Sr. Accounting management

The ideal candidate will understand finance and accounting operations; exercise basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, internal accounting controls, etc; candidate should be proactive and possess the ability to challenge existing processes and approaches and provide innovative suggestions that improve operational efficiency, effectiveness, internal controls, and/or customer service. The minimum requirements for this position are as follows:An accounting degree 2-3 years accounting experience General accounting experience including reconciliation and journal entry preparation Highly proficient in MS Excel Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Self motivated, professional attitude, can work well across all levels of accounting and business management Preferred - Experience with Hyperion Essbase and understanding of  banking and/or credit card industry a plus.
