Contribute to executive management portfolio credit risk decision-making on a team responsible for portfolio performance analysis, credit quality trending, and model-building to mitigate portfolio specific loss exposure. Participate in both long-term and short-term projects involving data gathering, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of results/recommendations.
 
Responsible for major credit risk management projects focused both on systems and analyses designed to support corporate profitability and loss mitigation goals.  Tracks risk performance and develops forecasting models. 

 

1. Identifies appropriate data sources and coordinates data feed from external sources. Validates incoming and outgoing data files.
2. Analyzes and evaluates system data integrity.
3. Defines, analyzes, and evaluates financial, performance, or statistical data in support of department objectives.
4. Creates unique reports used to support analytic findings.
5. Maintains and develops various links to other internal and/or external databases, technical models and reports required to support research, data gathering, and analytic responsibilities.
6. Produces in-depth analysis of operational savings and associated risk for department enhancements and initiatives.  Designs and develops reports to support enhancements.
7. Assists in the planning, development, and execution of credit risk policies and procedures.
8. Identifies needs, develops proposals, and implements projects to design and develop new financial models to evaluate and minimize portfolio credit risk.

o Bachelor’s degree required, preferred degrees include Finance, Statistics, and Applied Math; Master’s degree preferred.
o Experience with SQL and statistical modeling software such as SPSS, SAS and/or S+ desired.
o Familiarity with bank products and analysis.
o Ability to prepare and analyze data to identify meaningful patterns, form conclusions, and summarize findings (both in writing and orally) clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
o Familiarity with profitability and growth metrics and concepts to aid in the formulation of business strategies.
o Ability to anticipate business needs, assess risks, and develop analytic strategies.
o Must be a self-directed, highly motivated individual with a strong sense of curiosity, the ability to critically evaluate analysis methods, and the creativity to develop innovative new approaches.
o Ability to independently handle a variety of responsibilities simultaneously and be able to prioritize those tasks to best meet management/business needs.
o Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be comfortable presenting analytical findings to executive management.
o Comfortable working productively in a team-oriented environment where job requirements, technical knowledge, approaches, and priorities change rapidly.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
