Business Application Specialist - Deposits and Operations (115245-618)

We seek a Business Application Specialist to work in our Custom Development Group at our North American headquarters in Glastonbury, CT. Our Business Application Specialists assist with the software development process by defining and documenting software requirements and reviewing the developed software to ensure that it functions correctly, meets our software development standards and will fulfill our customers' requirements.


In this role, you will
 * work with our clients to clearly define and document their requests. This may involve working with a group of clients for Joint Application Development (JAD) efforts
 * assist with diagnosis/troubleshooting of reported problems pertaining to software developed by the department
 * determine how to best implement the requested changes / customization within the Open Solutions system. This may include working with Development staff, Product Managers, QA staff and/or other Business Application Specialists
 * create business requirements documentation / programming specifications with sufficient detail to enable application developers to complete the programming request
 * ensure that the final user documentation effectively conveys the information our clients need.

Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must have:
 * three or more years' business experience within the Banking and/or Credit Union industries, in a deposits/bank operations-related area
 * excellent verbal and written communication skills
 * a self-directed and highly motivated approach to your work with the ability to function independently as well as in a team
 * the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
 * an innovative approach to development, as many of the programming requests are for new capabilities
 * an MIS/Programming background and/or SQL skills (a plus)
 * the ability to travel as much as 25% travel.
