MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
Directly responsible for maintaining business relationships with sponsors and sub-sponsoring business units, building existing and new relationships, meeting and exceeding new development goals as set for by the credit union, developing presentations, and assisting in market research activities. Will act as Credit Union ?Goodwill? ambassador. Will extensively travel to solicit business from MEFCU members and potential members.
Sell, cross-sell and service lending relationships to select groups and others as designated by the Business Development Manager. This includes but is not limited to:
? Sales of Credit Union?s lending programs, products and services relative to lending including, but not limited to, consumer, Visa, mortgage and home equity loans.
? Underwrite loan applications as instructed according to Credit Union policies and procedures.
? Utilization of FSP, ALPS/Ultrafis and documentation procedures to ensure all loan documents (agreements, notices, etc.) accordingly reflect the transaction.
Sell, cross-sell and service savings relationships to select groups and others as designated by the Business Development Manager. This includes but is not limited to:
? Sales of Credit Union?s savings programs, including but not limited to, share certificate, checking products, savings programs and policies.
? Utilization of FSP and other Credit Union systems to open new accounts.
? Utilization of the MCIF to assist in developing business.
3. Sell, cross-sell and service other products and/or services (e.g., ATM, debit card, online banking, etc.) offered by MEFCU to select groups and others as designated by the Business Development Manager.
4. Increases awareness and visibility of MEFCU among the credit union?s sponsors and sub sponsors; develops sales strategies to increase credit union penetration. Establishes regular meetings with key representatives in sponsoring units. Responsible for placing MEFCU news in sponsor internal communications, e.g., newsletters, intranets and other vehicles.
5. Makes service calls as directed by management. To conduct on-site presentations and sales of MEFCU products and services.
6. Gathers information from sponsoring organizations through research, focus groups and other means. Recommends product or service enhancements to provide quality member service based upon specific sponsor needs.
7. Creates partnerships with identified business units in sponsoring companies to increase membership among employee ranks. Develop new liaison opportunities in sponsoring units; implement MEFCU Ambassador program. Have an understanding of strategic and operational impact of new business opportunities.
8. Identifies networking opportunities in sponsoring companies and business units, including but not limited to benefits fairs, regional meetings, sponsor conferences and other sponsor events.
9. Implements business development strategies developed by management that are designed to exceed credit union goals and objectives.
10. Recommends and identifies new sponsor segments and niches, opportunities, and develops strategies and methodologies to exploit those opportunities.
11. Provides comprehensive written reports on business development/sales efforts, including statistical reports, calendars and other reports to Include but not be limited to tracking member penetration in sponsoring companies. Make periodic presentations of plan?s progress.
12. Works closely with marketing department to create and tailor programs and materials appropriate for each sponsor company and/or business unit.
Continually monitor sponsor organizational and ownership changes; make FOM recommendations to Business Development Manager.
This position must successfully complete initial and recurrent training programs.
This position requires extensive travel to sponsor properties by any means as directed by MEFCU.
This position will have service and/or sales goals in which performance accountability will be required.

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
? Excellent interpersonal skills.
? 3 years proactive sales and business development experience.
? Proven track record for sales and/or new business development.
? Professional speaking and writing ability.
? Extensive travel required by air, train, car, etc. as directed (75% - 90% travel)
? Strong PC experience in MS Office
? Works well under pressure
? Superior customer service skills
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
? 2-3 years lending experience.
? 3 years financial services background
? Ability to speak Spanish
