CD/IRA SPECIALIST I

JOB FUNCTION:
Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance to all CD and IRA products to ensure accuracy of data and paperwork sent from branches.? Responsible for making sure all transactions are in compliance with all rules and regulations as govern by the IRS and ensuring the bank's compliance. Respond to all questions regarding CD?s and IRA?s as dictated by employees and customers.

REGULAR DUTIES:
Performs account maintenance including new account/plan set up, cstomer and beneficiary information and monetary transactions with corresponding General Ledger entries and document imaging on various Time Deposit accounts. Investigate and clear outstanding critical items, maintenance rejects and unredeemed Certificates of Deposit from Savings Time (ST) reports.

Conduct research on all Time Deposit accounts when requested by branches and other departments.

Verify receipt and accuracy of all Retirement Account Transaction forms for IRS compliance issues; ensure all IRA documents received and transactions processed are completed for accuracy per IRS regulations.

Assist employees and other clients with processing, regulatory issues and questions via phones, fax and e-mails.

Required Skills:
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
? High school diploma
? 1-2 years experience in banking operations.
? 1-2 years experience in processing of Retirement Accounts.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work in fast paced changing environment to complete IRA Training Module.
- Understanding of PC based word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Understanding of PC applications
- Basic knowledge of Certificate of Deposits, Traditional, Roth and Educational IRA?s
- General understanding of banking operations and IRA principles.
- Knowledge of accounting principles (interest calculations) and IRS regulations as it relates to IRA?s.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills, Good organizational skills, ability to manage time effectively, detail oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills, good analytical skills, proficient with a 10 key calculator, typing skills, good analytical skills, excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, teamwork, and aggressive/assertiveness skills.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
? Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
? Ability to operate a keyboard if required to perform the essential job functions.
? Ability to read and interpret a document.
? Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 30 pounds as required to perform the essential job functions
