CRA Loan Officer

As a CRA Loan Officer with U.S. Bank, you will: Originate CRA loans in an assigned territory. Take applications, conduct preliminary underwriting reviews, submit loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval. Follow-up to ensure that documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner from appropriate sources. Be customarily and regularly engaged in making and soliciting loan sales and conducting sales-related activities away from U.S. Bank locations. Be required to spend at least 80% of their time conducting their activities away from U.S. Bank locations. Establish referral source relationships for a steady flow of CRA loans. Develop and participate in programs and activities to increase individual and branch loan volume. Contribute as an active member of the local board of realtors and other affiliated groups as may be appropriate. Establish professionalism and maintain the integrity of the U.S. Bank name when dealing with the public. Meet specific loan volume origination goals which are established annually. Sell ancillary products such as credit life disability insurance, etc. Actively ensure compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies and procedures. Actively participate in any required corporate and business line training in these areas. Follow account opening procedures and understand and follow internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes. Actively work with customers to understand each customer's normal account activity, as appropriate for this position. While we expect that you?ll possess a strong basic skill set, including excellent communication and people skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently, we also require: A thorough knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies. A working knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors, as gained through on the job training or some real estate brokerage experience. Familiarity with local, state and national laws (e.g. zoning ordinances, Truth-in Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.) Excellent communication skills and ability to analyze financial information. Must be sales oriented. The ability to meet the applicable requirement of performing their duties outside of their regular place of business. A high school degree or equivalent. One year mortgage loan origination or equivalent sales and/or lending experience. Must be a self starter. Excellent sales ability. The ability to work independently.
