Card Payment Supervisor

Summary of Position (Job Purpose)

The Card Payment Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the financial and contractual processes related to Dollar Tree Stores, Inc.?s acceptance of debit, credit, and other card payment types, with supervision and review by the Director of Treasury Services. The individual will be involved in other analytical projects as required.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

?  Ensure appropriate training, cross-training, feedback, and development is provided to associates supporting the debit/credit card function

?  Supervise the payment card associates in the performance of activities that include:

?  Daily matching of bank deposit information on the Chesapeake System for debit card, credit card, gift card, and electronic benefits card sales ? balancing POS to processor and processor to bank file

?  Research and analysis of payment discrepancies ? unmatched and duplicate reports

?  Develop/review trend reporting to identify possible fraud or operational issues

?  Interaction with IT personnel and card payment processor to research and resolve card payment issues

?  Track debit adjustments to determine cause and work with processor to implement solutions

?  Phone contacts with customers

?  Notification to Asset Protection re missing payments that may be due to fraud/theft

?  Monthly reconciliation of bank statements for card accounts

?  Monthly preparation of journal entries

?  Preparation of any work papers needed for auditors related to card payment fees

?  Maintenance of card payment type files

?  Understand card payment contracts and act as primary interface with internal IT personnel and card payment processor on financial, contractual, and internal control matters

?  Analyze and forecast fees (interchange, network, processor); identify cost trends and initiate troubleshooting and corrective actions

?  Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve card payment processes (including information reporting). Participate in discussions with Dollar Tree operations and IT personnel, processor, networks, issuers, etc.

?  Manage and report on charge-backs and any missing payments, including reports to Asset Protection

?  Prepare monthly/quarterly reports for management to track and analyze sales and costs by tender type

?  Assist in implementation of new payment card programs

?  Maintain current knowledge of payment card industry - attend workshop sessions held by processor or other trade meetings to interact with peers on industry trends and best practices; educate Dollar Tree personnel (stores, IT, finance) regarding best practices

?  Develop annual budget for card payment costs

?  Ensure that SOX404 documentation is accurate and that desk procedures are complete and accurate

?  Perform miscellaneous duties and special assignments as needed


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

?  College degree or equivalent relevant banking / treasury / payment card experience

?  3-5 years financial experience

?  Ability to handle confidential information appropriately

?  Excellent computer skills

?  Excellent planning and organization skills

?  Excellent analytical skills

?  Excellent communication skills

?  Intermediate level query, electronic spreadsheet, word processing, and graphics software experience
