We currently have an opening in our Los Angeles Little Tokyo location for a day shift supervisor in the central cash vault. Responsibilities include: Manage assigned staff: establish and monitor performance objectives, appraise performance, recommend salary increases, ensure employee training and development, coach, counsel, hire, and terminate employees, as necessary. Work with management to create and establish morale boosting programs and activities. Ensure that all department policies and procedures are documented and administered properly. Develop methods to increase efficiency, quality, and performance. Make recommendations to management for unit improvements or changes, as needed. Answer inquiries from banking departments, customers, and vendors to provide necessary information and customer service in a clear and timely manner. Research and resolve the most complicated service issues. Maintain certain department controls, such as certifications, audit major customer differences, approve and review general ledger entries, and review and submit vendor billings for approval. Adhere to established budget for those line items they can directly control. Maintain ongoing communication with direct staff, other units, external departments, and vendors. Provide assistance and problem resolution as needed. Act as security officer for their area ensuring records and controls are in place for such items as combinations, key custody, validation stamps, sealing devices and other sensitive items. Create customer correspondence, memos, tracking logs, and other necessary documents for the unit. Assume necessary responsibilities in the managers absence. Making sound judgments and decisions on behalf of the operation. Manage reports, perform additional duties, and handle special projects, as assigned. Assigned grade will depend on experience.
Typically requires a High School degree or equivalent. Higher Education and/or demonstrated technical and job related experience in operations, service, supervision and leadership preferred. Make sound hiring decisions and develop employees to meet the units needs. Create employee goals, quality standards, and reviews that are reasonable, accurate, timely and without prejudice. Operate the CVAS system with little supervision and instruction. Cross-trained and proficient in all areas of the operation. 10 Key calculator, Cash handling, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift 50+ pounds and push carts carrying weights up to 2500 pounds. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to compose, understand, and communicate, written and verbal instructions, policies & procedures, and customer correspondence. Strong customer service skills with ability to use written and verbal skills to communicate clearly and timely with customers, banking departments and vendors to resolve the most complicated service issues. An ability to prioritize and flex with the pressures created by a production environment. Flexibility to move from task to task. A thorough knowledge of transactions enabling them to access and troubleshoot out of balance situations and resolve issues. Strong mathematical concepts, bookkeeping, and analytical skills. Able to perform, instruct, and assist with the most complex duties and calculations. Computer/data input and is proficient in PC applications such as word processing and spreadsheets as well as other computer application necessary to the unit. Thorough knowledge of teller equipment and other equipment specific to their unit. Strong working knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. Work independently and as a team player in a production environment with little supervision. The ability to travel as needed for the position, this may include but not limited to classes, meetings and team projects. Work in an enclosed high security setting.
