Collector

Principle Relationships:

Directly responsible to Collection Specialist/Manager.  Works closely with Lending Central and Financial Services.

 

Summary of Essential Functions:

Assists in the collection activity of the creditunion to maximize the recovery of loans.  Administers the loan related insurance products of the credit union.  Assures that proper claims are filed and that the credit union's interest is protected an paid promptly.  Responsible for the missions of RCFCU and Lending Central.

 

Essential Functions:

Contacts and documents contacts with the members who have not paid their loans and credit card(s).

Monitors and takes necessary action on the credit card reports.

Works negative accounts attributed to return items.

Answers inquiries including those that require archive research.

Assigns collateral for repossesion and assures accuracy of all invoices pertaining to repossession.

Monitors bankrupt loans and prepares documents to file with the bankruptcy court.

Processes member's credit disability insurance claims.

Prepares and types departmental correspondence and files documents when needed.

Prepares the month end delinquent loan and charge-off report.

Charges off accounts as approved by the Board of Directors.

Adds collection expenses to the loans.

Provides Notary and Medallions Stamp service. 

 

Requirements:

High school diploma, six months collection experience or equivalent, ability to handle detail, word procession and spreadsheet skills in a Windows environment, good communication skills, and the ability to prepare required correspondence.  Financial institution experience, 10-key by touch and data entry experience helpful.  May be required to life up to 60 pounds.
