Commercial Banking Career

Purpose

Assist the Branch Manager in the successful operation of the banking office and act on his/her behalf in his/her absence.Key Result Areas

Client Associates, Senior Client Associates, Lead Tellers, and indirectly supervises Senior Tellers and TellersPrincipal Responsibilities

?  Serve and satisfy the Bank?s customers

?  Satisfy customer needs by selling appropriate bank products and services and by resolving problems, responding to complaints and providing efficient service

?  Seek out opportunities to sell and cross sell Bank products to customer and prospects and ensure subordinate staff is doing the same

?  Ensure overall branch service quality

?  Prepare operational reports accurately and in a timely manner

?  Review and process overdrafts as needed.  Responsible for overdrafts within authority

?  Prepare employee?s reviews and counsel employees to meet performance standards

?  Motivate, develop and cross-train staff

?  Ensure adequate internal controls

?  Prepare and hold staff meetings as required and or needed

?  Discuss loan requests and review loan applications

?  Call on customers for business retention, new business and general servicing needs

?  Participate in personal development activities, internally and externally as appropriate

?  Communicate with supervisor on a regular basis any concerns or issues regarding customers or staff

?  Assist Branch Manager to expand the overall profitability of VIP and Major account relationshipsOther Responsibilities

?  Good leadership and supervisory skills are necessary

?  Knowledge of Bank products and services and ability to communicate same to customers and close sales.

?  Effective written and oral communication skills and ability to plan and organize work are essential

?  Flexibility, empathy and patience are needed in everyday operations

?  Understanding profitability of relationships and making management decisions accordingly

?  Possess a notary license within 6 months of being in this position

 Education

AIB diploma, certificate or other bank related education, AS or BS degree in business related area helpful.Experience 

Minimum 3 years experience in commercial banking with a portion in branch banking.  Sales experience and direct supervisory experience required.  A meaningful combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
