Commercial Collector

Essential Functions:

 

Communicates with delinquent borrowers to gather, compile and maintain basic credit/situational information as required to establish a plan of action in resolving delinquent commercial accounts. This process will include various means of contact such as telephone, letters, and personal visits. Utilizes effective human relations skills and various forms of persuasion to present a positive bank image in an already negative situation. Actively communicates with applicable lending officers to ensure timely resolution of their delinquent commercial loans. Effectively uses discretion and judgment with ability to make sensible independent decisions relating to functions of this job. Applies good organizational skills in documenting all applicable collection efforts in a clear, complete and concise manner.

Contribute to the soundness of the loan portfolio through prompt collection of delinquent commercial accounts and in meeting a satisfactory percentage of past due accounts and other established goals. Develops thorough understanding of collection laws, bankruptcy and litigation. Prepares files for litigation and monitors activity throughout process. Consistently meets performance standards as defined through the Sky Trek sales and service process. Maintains confidentiality in accordance with the Code of Professional Responsibility. Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned.

 

Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

 

High school graduate or equivalent. Collection experience required. Good communication and negotiating skills and professionalism. General knowledge of office equipment and processes, including Word and Excel applications.
