Arbor?s Williamsville, NY office, right outside of Buffalo, currently has an opening for a Portfolio Manager. The main function of this position is monitoring a sizable portfolio of commercial real estate loans in order to assess the portfolio?s quality, identify areas of risk, evaluate long term viability/performance and proactively mitigate potential loss. In depth knowledge of commercial real estate and underwriting principles will be required to execute the primary functions which are indicated below:
Review of new loan documents to ascertain loan specifc standards/exceptions
Financial analysis of project operations/borrower wherewithal
Physical evaluation of properties
Loan document review/interpretation
Analysis of recommendation for release of funds in connection with project improvement
Interface with investor(s) relative to negotiation/management of various loan issues
(e.g. insurance claim settlements, prepayment caluculation, document amendments, etc.)
Timely satisfaction/compliance with investor (contractual) requirements re: loan management functions
Coordination/management of numerous parties (attorneys/borrowers/investor/et al) relative to specific loan issues
The qualified candidate must have 3-5 years experience in a commercial real estate mortgage servicing department and/or commercial loan underwriting experience along with a 4-year college degree; business/finance preferred. Advanced proficiency in computer skills, especially Excel/Word applications; Access, letter writer a plus. This position also requires strong interpersonal/negotiation skills and organizational/time management skills. Some travel is required.
