Corporate Risk Analyst

Position: Corporate  RISK  ANALYST

 

Department: Credit & Market Risk

 

Reporting to the Risk Manager, Futures, within a global Credit and Market Risk team of seven; the role will be to carry out the day-to-day risk monitoring of the Futures business.  The individual will also be involved in further improvements to Risk Management processes and procedures.  A customer focused attitude with strong communication skills is essential to this role.  The successful candidate will show proven ability to problem solve and attention to detail.

 

Job Duties will include but are not limited to:

 Set up and maintain all clearing clients in Alerts Direct (risk monitoring application) and other risk management applications.Monitor all new and existing clearing clients in Alerts Direct and other risk management applications, escalating limit breaches according to the defined risk management procedures.Produce/contribute to management reporting as defined in the risk management policies and proceduresReview all error and default trade reports and escalate those that need further investigation according to the defined risk management policies and procedures.Monitor error trade accounts in Alerts Direct, escalating significant activity according to the defined risk management procedures.

 

Knowledge:

 Ensure understanding of the characteristics of the derivatives markets in which the corporate office  and its clearing clients operate.Ensure understanding of the full product life-cycle (order entry through to settlement).Ensure understanding of the front-end trading systems used and processes followed by the Futures Execution desk.Ensure understanding of each market?s initial margin calculations.Ensure detailed understanding of each market?s valuation calculations.

 

Requirements:

 2 years experience within a broker, investment bank, proprietary trading business or clearing organization, incorporating knowledge of the full product lifecycle.Good knowledge of the derivatives markets and productsConceptual and practical knowledge of derivatives risk managementPractical knowledge of risk monitoring systems (e.g. X_Risk, SARA and Alerts Direct).  Strong PC skills, particularly in the use of Excel and Access.
