Customer Service Assistant/Licensed Agent

POSITION SUMMARY: To assist the insurance agents in their daily work flow and servicing of customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Set up and prepare all branch lead quotes, including but not limited to, mailing customer lead letters and emailing a copy to the appropriate branch loan processor and loan officer.

Data entry of all transactions in the agency management system for the companies that do not download through an automated process.

Verify coverages, forms, rating and premiums and process new business policies that have been received by the agency.

Back up Administrative Assistants in duties including, but not limited to answering phones, incoming and outgoing mail and word processing in their absence.

Process company commissions, maintain trust accounts and assist in other accounting assignments.

Assist office manager in accounting functions.

Hours flexible; however, during peak times additional coverage might be needed.

Must possess a current Property and Casualty license.

Prior experience in insurance is a must.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong ability, desire and enjoyment in working with others, both employees and customers, in a cooperative, professional and friendly spirit.

Computer skills: accurate word processing, Word, Excel and Lotus Notes knowledge.

Clear, cheerful communication skills, including oral, telephone, written and in person.

Highly professional in standards, skills and manner in dealing with clients, insurance agents, and others. Pleasant, courteous, have good business etiquette and dress appropriately for a professional environment.

Must be a self-starter, dependable and work well under pressure with an ability to work cooperatively with and maintain effective communication and working relationship with co-workers, manager, branch and main office.
